Every Pestana guest is master of their room for (at least) a day. Every thing must be just right. From first thing in the morning to last thing at night.
There’s a great deal of science and method behind the perfect bedroom. And that includes how it’s cleaned. At Pestana we follow the “horseshoe method”, where cleaning starts at one end of the room and follows a sequence, finishing where it started. The method also involves colour-coded equipment, which is used for specific functions and materials.
The bed is always made to the most stringent of standards, with no fewer than eight different layers: first comes the base, then the mattress, then a topper between 5 and 10 cm thick (for stability), then the under sheet, then the sheet, then the duvet cover and finally the duvet and pillows. Now you know why you sleep so well in Pestana hotels and Pousadas de Portugal!
