From the menu to the décor, not to mention the excellent beach location, the Sea Deck restaurant offers diners a unique Algarve flavour.
Located opposite the Pestana Alvor South Beach, between Alvor’s lovely beach and the six kilometres of recently-constructed wooden walkways, we find the Sea Deck restaurant. Simply designed and made from natural materials, the wooden structure matches the landscape well. That said, the establishment’s characteristic red and white stripes certainly catch the eye, evoking the laid-back style of Miami’s South Beach.
Whether sitting in the roomy glazed dining room or at the terrace tables, the view is superb, which is unsurprising given that the restaurant is set over the dunes. The location of this restaurant in Alvor makes it ideal for a meal or a drink at the end of the day, especially for those who enjoy sunsets.

The Sea Deck’s menu has been created for warm days and features petiscos (Portuguese snacks, often shared), some inspired by traditional Algarve cuisine. There are a number of light options, such as sandwiches, hamburgers, toasties and salads, although the main culinary focus is on more elaborate dishes. For starters, there are prawns à la guilho (in olive oil, garlic and coriander), clams à bulhão pato (in white wine, garlic and coriander), fried cuttlefish, as well as super-fresh fish. When it comes to mains, recommendations include octopus tentacle, ox loin, and the delicious fish and seafood rice for two. If there’s room for dessert, try the chocolate mousse and carob tart.
