Dionísio Pestana is always on the lookout for ideas. Whenever he visits a new hotel abroad, he always returns inspired by small details mere mortals ignore. Sometimes, foreign travel is unnecessary. Like the time he attended a wedding reception on a hotel rooftop in Madeira in 2021.
From this vantage point, he was able to see his Casino Park Hotel roof and its solar panels. It suddenly dawned on him that the space could be used differently. It didn’t take him long to start work. Two days later, he was taking measurements for the future pool and deck. With the hotel closed due to the pandemic, the work was done in no time. Now, guests can relax, swim and sunbathe with a stunning view over the bay of Funchal.
