Berlin on two wheels

August 21st, 2025

You don’t have to go far to begin the Berlin experience. Standing next to the city's largest park, the Pestana Berlin Tiergarten is, without doubt, the perfect starting point.

This Central Hotel in Berlin, next to Tiergarten, offers bike rental for guests and where our two-wheeled city tour begins. With safe bike lanes and flat routes all over the city, cycling in Berlin is as natural as taking a mid-afternoon break for currywurst. For those who sign up for the ride, the German capital will reveal itself best slowly, stopping whenever you please.

In the shadow of the Tiergarten and in the vibrant heart of Berlin, the Pestana Berlin Tiergarten is the haven that invites you to set off and cycle slowly, and discover every corner of the city.

Morning: amongst the green and iconic

The hotel stands alongside the Tiergarten, an essential stop on any Berlin bike tour and where locals and visitors enjoy strolling, reading, or simply letting time pass. Then, cross the park towards the Victory Column (Siegessäule), before heading to the most iconic symbol of the reunified city: the Brandenburg Gate.

In the center of the Tiergarten, the Victory Column rises as a beacon of history and a meeting point for those discovering Berlin.

Nearby is the Holocaust Memorial, a visual and sensory experience that undoubtedly leaves a lasting impression on all visitors. Continue along Unter den Linden boulevard, which is flanked with historic buildings, until you get to Museum Island. Even if you don’t visit any museum at this point, it’s still worth taking a breather and enjoying the unique atmosphere by the River Spree.

More than just a collection of museums, an island where history and beauty reveal themselves at every step.

Afternoon: Berlin’s alternative side

After lunch at Alexanderplatz (a great spot to see the city’s hustle and bustle), head to Kreuzberg, where Berlin shows its most creative side: independent shops, urban art, and cool cafés. Another recommendation is Markthalle Neun, with its local food, handmade pieces, and neighbourhood life.

On the off chance you have energy left, cross the river to the East Side Gallery—a section of the Berlin Wall that has been turned into an open-air art gallery, where the late afternoon light is particularly beautiful.

The old wall transformed into a canvas: at the East Side Gallery, every step is an encounter with history and freedom.

Day’s end: a free lane

End your tour at Tempelhofer Feld, which used to be an airport before being converted into an urban park. Cycling on a runway is a unique experience, and there’s plenty of space to ride around, have a picnic or just watch the sun set.

Runways transformed into open skies: at Tempelhofer Feld, the city breathes and invites you to slow down.

And after the ride?

Once back at the hotel, enjoy the indoor pool, spa and bar to end the day on a high. After all, this is a place you can live life to the fullest… and relax in equal measure.

After exploring Berlin, the hotel’s haven invites you to slow down and recharge.
